Mrs. Arcuri
High School Italian Teacher

Salve! I have been teaching Italian in the Ridgefield District for 34 years and have worked in Shaler Academy, Slocum Skewes and RMHS.  I currently am back at RMHS and teach all levels including 1, 2, 3 and 3 Honors, 4 and 4 Honors and 5 Honors Italian. I am also the Advisor for the Italian, Korean and Spanish Honor Societies.

I earned my B.A. from Fordham University in Italian Language and Culture and my M. A. from New York University in Italian Literature with a concentration in the Medieval Period.  I hold a K-12 Teaching Certification for Italian and have taught elementary, middle school, high school including AP Italian as well as undergraduate courses at NYU.

As a veteran Italian teacher I am passionate about sharing the beauty of the Italian language and culture with my students.  My teaching philosophy centers around creating a supportive, engaging and student centered environment that inspires students to take risks and grow. I believe in fostering a love for language through meaningful communication, cultural immersion, and real world connections.  My approach combines structure with creativity -- integrating listening, speaking, reading and writing skills -- through interactive activities, authentic materials and cultural exploration.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my 3 children and husband, traveling, cooking and going to Disney World!
