Meet the Supervisor of Instruction

Dr. Laurie Ann Densen is the supervisor of the Learning Center at Ridgefield Memorial High School. She has worked in the Ridgefield School district for over 30 years.  Dr. Densen started her career in Ridgefield as a reading specialist, and then as a teacher in the learning center throughout the district. She began working as the supervisor of the Slocum Skewes Learning Center in 2004, and then became the supervisor of the RMHS Learning Center in 2019.
 
Dr. Densen graduated from Susquehanna University, with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and music minor, and she received her master’s degree in reading from Bloomsburg University. Dr. Densen graduated from Fordham University with her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, and a concentration in language, literacy, and learning.
 
Dr. Densen is married to her husband, a newly retired special education teacher. She has two daughters, one who is a teacher of students with autism, and the other is in college. She also has two dogs, Ellie and Gracie, who are her favorite children.
