High School Teacher
Ridgefield Memorial High School
Hello!
My name is Jane Kirshenbaum, commonly known as Mrs.K, and I am excited to be Environmental Science, Engineering By Design and Forensic Science at the RMHS. I have been teaching for more than 25 years and I still love my job.
I earned my Masters of Science in Geosciences which encompases Environmental Science, Geology, Meteorology, Climate Science, Oceanography and Astronomy. I hold 6-12 teaching certification in 4 states: New Jersey, New York, California and Pennsylvania.
After school I am thrilled to be the advisor for the Environmental Club and coaching Robotics Team, with Mr. Islambouli.
I also work with the RVCC Institute of Learning as a teacher leader in their program to train teachers in utilizing the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). In utilizing the NGSS we train students for future jobs that involve critical thinking and collaboration. This is done through a plethora of hands-on learning experiences to include all forms of learning modalities.
Outside the classroom, I travel as much as I can to mostly visit my family, who are scattered around the country and the world: California, New Mexico, Florida, France and Germany.
Please feel free reach out at any time to touch base. [email protected]
