Mrs. Dana Tavano

English Teacher, R.M.H.S.

 

My name is Mrs. Tavano, and I teach English at Ridgefield Memorial High School.  I have 20 years of teaching experience, 14 of which were here at R.M.H.S.  I pride myself on creating a warm and trusting learning environment where my students feel comfortable and relaxed.  My philosophy centers around building positive relationships along with understanding and meeting students’ needs.

 

I earned my B.A. from Seton Hall University, where I majored in secondary education and English and minored in psychology.  My literary focus on British Literature has led to my passion for the subject.  

 

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two sons and dog.   Additionally, I love spending as much time as possible at the beach, being active and watching sports.
