Ms. Anna Georgiou
Ridgefield Memorial High School English Teacher and Liberal Arts Department Chair

Welcome to my page! I have been teaching at Ridgefield Memorial High School for over 20 years now.  I primarily teach freshmen but have taught many different grade levels during my years here. Along with teaching, I am also the department chair for ELA, History, ESL and World Languages.  I’m passionate about teaching English at the high school level, where I get to inspire students to think critically and express themselves with confidence. As department chair, I’m proud to lead a team of dedicated educators and create a supportive, engaging learning environment for every student.

I earned my B.A. from Seton Hall University and my M.A. from Kean University. I hold a K-12 teacher of English certificate as well as a supervisor's certificate. Throughout the years, I have continued my studies and have earned additional credits beyond my Master's degree.  I believe that every student has a unique voice worth cultivating, and my goal as an educator is to help them develop confidence and critical thinking through language and literature. I strive to create a classroom that is inclusive, engaging, and intellectually challenging, where students feel empowered to explore ideas and grow as lifelong learners.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters, as well as my extended family and friends. I love spending time outdoors; I especially enjoy taking walks, going to the beach, and watching my kids play sports. I am also fortunate to have family in Greece, so I like to spend some time during the summer months there, just enjoying the culture and soaking in the warm sun and beautiful beaches.
